Role Overview
We are seeking a Website Designer to lead a comprehensive revamp of our existing website, improving overall design quality, user experience, and clarity of content.
This role begins as a project-based engagement focused on delivering a polished, professional, and conversion-ready website. Upon successful launch, the engagement transitions into a light monthly retainer for ongoing updates and maintenance.
This role is ideal for a designer who combines strong UX thinking with practical execution and can independently deliver structured, scalable, and visually compelling digital experiences.
Website Strategy & Revamp
- Conduct a full audit of the current website structure, design system, and user flow
- Redesign key pages to improve visual consistency, navigation, and content clarity
- Strengthen conversion flow and information hierarchy
- Develop and implement updated layouts and reusable design components
- Ensure responsiveness across desktop and mobile devices
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on messaging and content placement
- Establish a clean and scalable design framework to support future growth
User Experience & Design Execution
- Apply strong UI/UX principles to improve usability and engagement
- Translate business objectives into intuitive website structure and page flows
- Ensure visual consistency across typography, spacing, color, and components
- Balance aesthetics with functionality and performance
- Deliver a refined, professional finish aligned with 1882's brand positioning
Ongoing Maintenance & Optimization
- Upload and properly format blog posts
- Update job postings and website content as required
- Maintain visual consistency across new content
- Execute minor layout refinements and content adjustments
- Ensure continued performance and structural integrity of the site
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work independently while managing timelines and deliverables
- Communicate clearly with internal teams on revisions and updates
- Ensure smooth handover documentation and future maintainability

Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience designing and updating professional websites (portfolio required)

- Ability to manage a project from audit through launch
