Position Accountability Statement
We are looking for a skilled Web Developer focusing Shopify development who can handle everything from front-end theme customization to back-end app integrations and ongoing technical support. You will be the technical owner of our e-commerce storefront, ensuring the site is high-performing, mobile-responsive, and optimized for conversion. This role requires a mix of creative coding and rigorous technical troubleshooting.
Job Responsibilities
Development & Customization
- Develop, configure, and launch new Shopify stores and features from scratch, adhering to design specifications and business requirements.
- Build, customize, and maintain highly responsive Shopify themes using Liquid (Shopify's templating language).
- Implement pixel-perfect designs using HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript (Vanilla or frameworks like Vue.js/React).
- Build custom functionality such as product filters, AJAX cart drawers, and specialized landing pages.
Integration & App Management
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Shopify apps (e.g., Klaviyo, Recharge, Yotpo).
- Connect Shopify with external systems like ERPs, CRMs, or custom-built APIs.
- Experience with Shopify's Storefront API or Hydrogen framework.
- Connect Shopify with any payment platforms.
Support & Optimization
- Regularly audit site speed and Core Web Vitals to ensure fast load times.
- Act as the first line of defense for site breaks, checkout issues, or display glitches across different browsers and devices.
- Ensure the site structure and metadata are optimized for search engine crawling.
- Able to handle incident and service request tickets.
Maintenance & Optimization
- Provide ongoing maintenance, updates, and support for live Shopify stores, troubleshooting and resolving bugs promptly.
- Optimize website performance, including page load speed, image optimization, and code efficiency, to improve user experience and SEO.
- Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency across all elements.
- Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance across various browsers and devices.
- Remediation of all security findings that will be requested by internal or external security teams.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Work closely with Project Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to translate designs and business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on Shopify best practices, emerging technologies, and platform limitations to clients/internal teams.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team.

Professional Qualification
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of dedicated experience with Shopify/Shopify Plus.
- Experience using Git (GitHub/Bitbucket) for collaborative development.
- Experience with Shopify Flow or Shopify Scripts (for Plus merchants).
- Advanced knowledge of Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with PHP, VueJS, NodeJS, ReactJS,Kotlin,Java Springboot is a plus.
Platform Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Shopify's admin interface, product, collection, order, and customer data models.
- Experience with performance optimization techniques for Shopify (Lighthouse, deferring assets, etc.).
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Willingness to be retool and learn new technologies.
