Job Description

The Inbound Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all

inbound warehouse activities, including receiving, unloading, inspection, put-away, and inventory

control processes. This position ensures that incoming goods are processed accurately, safely,

and efficiently while maintaining inventory integrity and compliance with company policies and

operational standards.

The Inbound Warehouse Supervisor leads and develops warehouse personnel, monitors key

performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support

seamless supply chain operations. The role is accountable for achieving productivity, quality,

safety, and service objectives through effective planning, supervision, and continuous process

improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily receiving, unloading, inspection, and put-away activities to ensure timely and accurate processing of inbound shipments.
  • Monitor inbound workflow and allocate manpower to meet operational requirements and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure all incoming goods are received, verified, and recorded accurately in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving quantities, damages, shortages, and documentation.
  • Supervise warehouse assistants and team leaders engaged in inbound operations.
  • Conduct training, coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox meetings to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-miss events.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as receiving accuracy, putaway productivity, dock-to-stock time, and inventory accuracy.
  • Implement corrective actions and process improvements to achieve operational targets.
  • Collaborate with Buying, Planning, Transportation, Inventory Control, Quality Assurance, and other departments to ensure smooth inbound operations.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and service providers regarding delivery schedules and shipment concerns.
  • Ensure receiving docks, staging areas, and storage locations are organized, clean, and compliant with 5S standards.
  • Monitor proper storage and handling of products to prevent damage and loss.
  • Assist in cycle counts, stock audits, and inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on inbound performance, manpower utilization, inventory discrepancies, and operational issues.
  • Provide recommendations to improve efficiency and warehouse performance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce costs, improve inventory accuracy, and optimize warehouse processes.
  • Participate in projects related to process standardization, automation, and operational excellence.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management that are related to warehouse and logistics operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse operations experience and 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of inbound receiving, inventory management, and warehouse systems.
  • Familiarity with warehouse KPIs and productivity metrics.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and WMS applications.
  • Understanding of inventory management and cycle counting processes.
  • Experience with barcode scanners, RF devices, and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to supervise, train, coach, and motivate warehouse staff.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience scheduling manpower and managing workflow.
  • Ability to enforce safety and operational standards.
  • Knowledge of inbound receiving processes, quality inspections, and inventory accuracy.
  • Understanding of FIFO, FEFO, and other inventory management principles.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, occupational health, and warehouse best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed.
