Job Description

As a VMware Infrastructure Consultant in AEVEN, you will be part of a customer team that handles the daily operation and support for AEVENs services.

Our team of passionate and highly skilled people is growing, and we are looking for an experienced VMware Operations Consultant working within infrastructure related projects and daily tasks/assignments.

  • Participating internal customer project.
  • Implement changes and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as Operation Manuals, technical design specification, guidelines and project documentation.
  • Manage local department tasks and participate in projects.
  • Performs operational tasks that directly affect the results of the customer team within the work area. Tasks may not be conducted based on predefined processes and guidelines according however, you will have the opportunity to set goals.
  • Analyse project tasks, which require academic competencies.
  • Monitor & control tasks, minor projects or part of larger projects.
  • Establish and manage training activities such as workshops including content and exercises. System administration of relevant systems
  • Continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of IT processes and services within the customer delivery organisation.
  • Ongoing client communication during task execution to ensure alignment with client expectations
  • Involved in consolidation, automation and performance optimization.
  • Provide guidance and counselling on VMware related questions
  • Designing, implementing and managing VMware environments and Linux systems.

Qualifications

You will be part of a customer delivery organisation and will be engaging with one specific customer, you should have a broad technical experience within 2nd/3rd level operation support. The customer delivery team is a global team hence you will have a daily interaction with colleagues located in Denmark, US, India, Polland and Philippines. You should have a business-oriented approach to communication and problem solving, and a strong operational and supporting skills as well as a quality mindset.

You will also have colleagues around the world whom are specialized within Windows and SQL as these areas are high focus areas for our customers. This is a huge opportunity to work with other professionals in Philippines as a SME for Windows on a specific customer, where you can broaden your technical knowledge, exchange ideas, collaborate and develop your technical skills within other areas as well.

The right candidate will be open minded and ensure that knowledge is shared in a positive and motivational way within the team.

AEVEN works according to the ITIL Framework and we expect that you are at least ITILv2/v3 foundation certified; if not AEVEN will help you obtain the certification.

Beside this, we visualize you to be:

  • Experience in Incident, Standard Service Request, Change and Problem Management in accordance of ITIL Framework.
  • Experienced troubleshooting vSphere (The suite of products, and especially in ESXi 6.5 and 6.7 and vCenter)
  • Comfortable writing scripts using PowerShell
  • Knowledge about other VMware product like NSX, vCloud and vRealize is a plus.
  • Strong team player attitude and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Automate trivial tasks, any experienced with coding, automation or deployment of infrastructure components is a benefit.
  • Right customer support attitude to communicate and solve problem with Quality Mindset.
  • General knowhow on how storage, network and compute resources work in VMWare
  • Deployment principles using varies orchestration tools is a plus
  • Proficient in English language written and verbal communication abilities is necessary.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in Cross-cultural and International end-user support is a plus.
  • Communicates complex issues both internally and externally. Explains facts, methodology, policies etc. to parties both internally and externally.
  • Motivated to cross operational boundaries and gain new knowledge on areas with limited experience
  • Are good at communicating and interacting with people.
  • Prefer to work with various tasks simultaneously.
  • Structured in your daily work, self-motivated and able to take the initiative.
  • Knowledge and Experience at Linux Operating System is a plus

Work Schedule

Employees will be expected to adhere to a flexible hybrid work schedule, with a required presence in the office for 1 day per week, allowing for customization of work hours within a specified morning or mid-shift time frame.
