VMware Administrator

Job Summary:

• Responsible to maintain high availability, reliability, performance, security and competency to ensure service quality to the client.
• Observes applicable policies, standards, procedures and guidelines of the IT group, the Bank and the regulatory agencies such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in the conduct of work.

How will you contribute:

Install, Configure and Manage

1. Provision and install new server requested by the application team
2. Deploy and manage VMware Vsphere environment
3. Implement and Manage Vcenter ESXI hosts, VSAN, SRM, VROPS, VReplication and virtual machine

System Maintenance, Performance, Resources and Lifecycle

1. Conduct health check and risk assessment on the VMware infrastructure
2. Monitor system performance and ensure the high availability and reliability of VMware environment
3. Performance monitoring and resource utilization analysis to ensure resource are utilized efficiently
4. Plan and implement firmware, drivers and software upgrade of VMware infrastructure
5. Collaborate with the VMware support teams to escalate and resolve issues promptly
6. Collaborate with TAM support for the lifecycle of VMware infrastructure

Patching Vulnerability Assessment

1. Install patches release by the VMware to protect against vulnerabilities
2. Implement and maintain security best practices within the VMware infrastructure

User Administration

1. Manage user accounts, permission and access rights to ensure proper access to the Vcenter
2. Create, modify and disable user accounts as needed
3. Implements password policies to enhance security of Vcenter

Documentation and Training

1. Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configuration, procedures and best practices.
2. Ensure documentation is accessible and useful for all the team members
3. Maintain inventory list of all virtual machines
4. Online training for VMware and other hypervisor

Disaster Recovery

1. Supports Disaster recovery activity
2. Maintain and monitor protection group and recovery plan for any natural and man-made disaster

What will make you successful:

• In depth knowledge of VMware Vcenter, ESXI, VSA and other hypervisor technologies
• Proficiency in scripting and automation like PowerCLI are highly preferred
• Familiarity with cloud technologies
• Familiarity with network and storage concepts as they are related to the VMware environments
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork and can effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical team.
