About us
Lingopie is a language learning platform built around real TV shows and films. Instead of flashcards and grammar drills, we teach languages the way people actually absorb them — through content they want to watch. We're a small, fast-moving team with real traction, and we're looking for a video editor who can own our paid creative output end-to-end.
The role
You'll be the person responsible for producing the video ads that introduce Lingopie to the world. That means editing UGC into scroll-stopping paid social content, building and testing hooks, and iterating fast based on performance data. This isn't a role where you execute someone else's vision frame-by-frame — you'll be expected to bring your own creative instincts, spot trends before we ask you about them, and make calls independently.
You'll work closely with our creative and performance teams, but day-to-day you'll largely be driving yourself.
What you'll do
- Edit UGC, talking-head, and mixed content into hook-first paid social ads across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube
- Own A/B testing on hooks, angles, and formats — and document what you learn
- Handle audio mixing, music sourcing, captions, color correction, and motion graphics as needed
- Build and maintain a clean asset library in Frame.io or equivalent so the team can move faster
- Bring trend awareness and creative ideas to team syncs — not just execution
- Use AI tools to extend your output and scope where it makes sense
What we're looking for
Required
- 2+ years editing paid social or UGC content, with a reel to show for it
- Expert in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve; comfortable in CapCut for quick turnarounds
- Working knowledge of After Effects for motion graphics and light VFX
- Photoshop or equivalent for thumbnails, static assets, and in-video image editing
- Strong grasp of platform formats: 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9 across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube
- Audio fundamentals: levelling, ducking, noise reduction, licensed music sourcing (Epidemic Sound, Artlist, or similar)
- Captioning workflows for social content
- Understands performance metrics (hook retention, thumb-stop rate, CTR, ROAS) and edits with them in mind
- Fluent with 2–3 GenAI tools (Runway, ElevenLabs, or similar)
- Your own equipment and a reliable remote setup
Nice to have
- Experience in edtech, language learning, or subscription app marketing
- Motion design depth beyond basic AE work
- Figma literacy for collaboration with design
- Localization or multilingual content experience
- Creative testing frameworks: hook rotation, variant structuring, iterative learning loops
What success looks like
Better hook retention and CTR on the ads you produce. A steady, predictable output of variants and tests each week. An asset library the whole team can actually use. And creative instincts that make the briefs better, not just fulfilled.
