Our brand, Lennor Metier Consulting, a DOLE-licensed headhunting and recruitment agency in the Philippines, is proud to partner with a reputable shipping and logistics company in their search for a Vessel Accounting Officer based in Pasay City.

Salary Range: 30,000 - 35,000

Work Setup: Onsite

Shift Schedule: Day Shift

Location: Pasay City

The role

The Vessel Accounting Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for an assigned fleet of vessels and acting as the primary point of contact for Ship Owners on all vessel-related accounting matters.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for assigned vessels, including preparing fund requests, reviewing invoices, checking portage bills, and completing month-end entries.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their reporting needs and ensure all required financial reports are delivered accurately.
  • Prepare and submit monthly vessel reportssuch as financial statements, cash flow reports, and budget variance reportswhile ensuring all accounts and balances are properly reconciled.
  • Finalize and send vessel financial reports to Ship Owners on time, and respond promptly to any questions or clarifications they may have.
  • Assist the reporting manager with monthly internal reports, including management reports and budget variance updates, ensuring all submissions are completed on schedule.
  • Handle other reporting tasks assigned by the reporting manager as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
  • At least 2 years of experience in core accounting and financial reporting; experience in the shipping industry is a plus but not required
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow reports, and budget vs. actual analysis
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP is preferred
  • Experience with digital tools and automation platforms (e.g., accounting automation, invoicing workflows, PowerBI, Tableau) is an advantage
  • Previous exposure to ship management or the shipping industry is an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
