Job Summary
The Vehicle Technical Specialist is responsible for providing expert technical support, diagnostics, and guidance related to vehicle systems and performance. This role serves as a technical authority for troubleshooting complex issues, supporting service teams, and ensuring vehicles meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues
- Provide advanced technical support to technicians, service advisors, and customers
- Interpret vehicle diagnostic data, service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins
- Perform root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Support vehicle inspections, repairs, and quality assurance processes
- Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and engineering teams on technical matters
- Conduct test drives and system evaluations to verify repairs and performance
- Train and mentor technicians on new technologies, tools, and repair procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, manufacturer standards, and industry best practices
- Document technical findings, repair procedures, and service reports accurately
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, repair, or technical support
- Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, EV/hybrid systems, transmissions, and chassis
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, scan tools, and vehicle software systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
