The Valuations Manager works closely with the Corporate Finance team and is responsible for managing and overseeing various projects based on client needs, including valuation-related engagements. Some of the expected work for the Manager include: leading and executing Purchase Price Allocation (PPA), Business Enterprise Valuation (BEV), Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) calculations, and other related analyses.
He/she will manage all assigned senior and junior financial analysts and will be responsible for coaching them and assisting them in their career growth along with other managers of the team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing and leading the execution of various valuation analyses, including Purchase Price Allocation (PPA), Intangible Asset Valuations, and Business Enterprise Valuations (BEV).
- Develop and apply valuation models using different methodologies, such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), market multiples, and asset-based approaches.
- Calculate and analyze key valuation inputs, including Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC), comparable company multiples, and economic data.
- Prepare detailed valuation reports and presentations for clients, summarizing findings and supporting conclusions.
- Review and critique valuation models and reports prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to professional standards
- Be a leader, innovator and motivator in the corporate finance team - introduce better ways to improve quality and efficiency of work
- Help with growth strategy for corporate finance - recruiting future corporate finance team members, marketing corporate finance, looking into what industries to focus on
- Must be able to effectively communicate with his/her team and maintain a positive working relationship when addressing problems and coming up with solutions.
- Responsible for training and coaching the staff.
- Manage client's expectations and relationships
- Must be flexible to accommodate tight deadlines but also be able to negotiate timing of deliverables with the client, when appropriate

Qualifications
- At least 5-7 years of experience in business valuation or other finance-related fields, with 1 to 2 years managerial experience.
- Big 4 accounting firm background or transaction services experience from investment banks
- Must have advanced excel skills that are relevant in performing business valuations
- Must be passionate about business models and processes and systems
- Bachelor's degree in business, particularly in accounting or finance.
- CPA, CVA, or CFA certifications are a plus.
- Transaction support experience involving M&A is a plus.
- Practical knowledge of Black-Scholes, Lattice models, Monte Carlo simulation, and other valuation tools and techniques a plus.
- Must be well versed in industry research including tools used such as Pitchbook or Capital IQ.
- Must be a self-starter and proactive in advancing personal learning to handle complicated and multiple valuation engagements.
- Must be comfortable working with foreign clients.
- Must possess impeccable business writing and speaking skills.
