Position: US Tax Accountant
We are seeking an eperienced Tax Accountant to collaborate with our team on U.S. tax return preparation, compliance, and advisory services for a diverse client base
Scope of Work
- Prepare and review U.S. tax returns for individuals and various business entities
- Interpret tax documents and prepare supporting workpapers based on client submissions
- Research tax issues and apply appropriate IRS and state guidance to support tax positions
- Address tax notices from the IRS or state agencies, and communicate directly with clients as needed
- Assist with general accounting services, bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax filings when required
- Utilize UltraTax CS (required) and other accounting tools such as QuickBooks Online/Desktop
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to process improvements
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to U.S. tax standards
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of U.S. tax law and tax forms
- Proficient in UltraTax (required) and comfortable with related tax software
- Experience with interpreting Forms W-2, 1099, 1098, K-1, and related tax documents
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively with minimal supervision
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal, with professional client interaction skills
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning
Minimum Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Active PH Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Other Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of US tax preparation experience
- Experience working with clients directly and handling tax-related inquiries or notices
- Availability for extended hours during U.S. tax season
Working Hours:
- For the first 6 months: required to work 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM CST
- After 6 months: required hours adjust to 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM CST, with flexibility, but must attend any scheduled client or team meetings
- Weekly workload: minimum of 40 hours per week
Compensation:
- PhP 700/hour | PhP 110,000/month (based on 40 hours/week)
- This reflects the base rate. Paid overtime is available for hours beyond 40 per week.
- There are also opportunities for incentives and additional earnings based on productivity and performance.
- Total annual compensation ranges from PhP1.5M to PhP2.5M.
- Engagement duration: Initial 6-month term, renewable based on performance and project needs
