DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage staff and supervise the monthly bookkeeping process from start to finish, ensuring timely issuance of financial statements.
- Handle end-to-end bookkeeping for complex clients as needed.
- Review monthly financials and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Interact with US-based clients and address their accounting concerns.
- Independently address complex accounting issues, including accruals, payroll transactions, equity transactions, and other financial adjustments.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Coordinate with external auditors to provide requested documents and reconciliations
- Coordinate with tax preparers to provide requested information and reconciliations
- Optimize accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentor team members and provide excellent leadership support.
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA is a plus).
- 10 years of total accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a US firm.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience.
- Extensive experience in accrual accounting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Ramp is required; experience with Bill.com, or Gusto is a plus.
- Familiarity with the following platforms is also advantageous:
- Rho (banking and bill pay)
- Rippling (payroll)
- Justworks (payroll)
- Double (formerly Keeper) for monthly close
- Carta (equity management software)
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfort leveraging AI and automation tools (e.g., data analysis, workflow optimization, reporting) to drive efficiency and insight
- Willingness to continuously learn and adopt emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance financial processes and reporting
