Job Description

U.S. AR and AP Specialist (Full-Time, Remote)

Role Summary:

You will perform day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks that span multiple clients and a variety of industries (e.g. eCommerce, retail and manufacturing, agencies, software, fin tech, and business services). Required knowledge and experience working with U.S. companies and U.S. accounting standards.

In this role you will collaborate with Finance and Accounting Leads who will provide oversight and mentorship within our team across multiple clients.

You will be exposed to additional areas of Accounting as new opportunities arise and assist with ad hoc requests.

Role Responsibilities:

Vendor onboarding and AP

  • Onboard new vendors and ensure that all required tax information is received in advance
  • Enter AP invoices and manage approvals
  • Work cross-functionally and with vendors to manage Purchase Orders; issue, track, match to invoices and resolve discrepancies, follow-up on old outstanding POs
  • Generate weekly AP aging reports for AP approvals and payment processing

AR and Cash Applications

  • Enter AR invoices, distribute, and ensure payments are collected upon
  • Apply cash receipts to invoices on a daily basis
  • Run AR aging reports on a regular basis and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Issue and apply credit memos as needed.

Communication and Team

  • Work cross-functionally with the organization to support ad hoc requests
  • Maintain thoughtful, timely and proactive communication with the clients and team
  • Manage accounting inboxes, responding to or escalating inquiries where needed

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, and/or Finance
  • 2+ years of relevant U.S. work experience
  • Experience in Quickbooks Online or a similar system
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience in eCommerce highly preferred
  • Experience with inventory accounting highly preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently and be engaged in a remote environment
  • Ability to plan ahead and anticipate personal, client, and teams needs
  • Work during client business hours
  • Can balance multiple priorities across multiple clients and span between day to day functions and weekly or monthly deadlines
  • High comfort level in working with many different cloud-based technology tools
  • Organizes deliverables in a logical and clean manner
  • Excellent communication skills and business acumen
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
