Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and monitor dispatching, routing, tracking, and overall trip execution.
  • Resolve service issues or delays to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Ensure all trips are completed on time and in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure all trucks undergo regular inspections and meet road-worthiness requirements.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance repairs and, and service schedules with mechanics or vendors.
  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations, government requirements, and company policies.
  • Supervise drivers and operations staff to maintain discipline and professionalism.
  • Conduct training, coaching, and performance evaluations to improve team skills.
  • Lead regular meetings to communicate updates, address issues, and reinforce work standards.
  • Monitor and analyze key operational indicators such as utilization, fuel efficiency, and trip performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of trip documentation and operational reports.
  • Implement improvements based on performance trends and operational data.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, repair costs, and operational expenses to avoid overspending.
  • Support budget preparation and ensure cost-efficient use of fleet and resources.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising service quality.
  • Investigate accidents, delays, and operational incidents to determine root causes.
  • Prepare complete and timely incident reports for review by management.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business requirements and operational needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, drivers, and internal teams.
  • Enforce company rules, safety protocols, and operational procedures among all trucking staff.
  • Take disciplinary actions when necessary and ensure proper documentation.
  • Escalate critical issues and concerns to the Head of Operations and assist in additional task as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in trucking, logistics, transport operations, or fleet management.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory or managerial experience handling drivers or operations staff.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance oversight, dispatching, and route planning.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation laws, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in logistics software, tracking systems, and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of vehicle maintenance processes and preventive maintenance scheduling.
  • Ability to analyze operational data (fuel efficiency, utilization, trip performance, expenses).
