The Transport Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, analyzing, and evaluating transportation systems and infrastructure projects in Cebu and surrounding areas. The role involves traffic impact assessments, road and intersection design, mobility studies, and coordination with local government agencies and stakeholders to improve traffic flow, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Analysis
- Conduct traffic impact assessments (TIA) and transport studies.
- Perform traffic modeling and simulation analysis.
- Analyze traffic volume, capacity, and level of service (LOS).
- Develop mobility plans, public transport studies, and parking assessments.
- Support urban transport planning initiatives.
Design & Engineering
- Prepare road geometric designs and intersection layouts.
- Design traffic signal systems and signage/markings.
- Develop transport infrastructure drawings and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine standards (e.g., DPWH, LGU regulations).
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with local government units (LGUs), consultants, and contractors.
- Attend technical meetings and public consultations.
- Review contractor submissions and provide technical recommendations.
- Assist in project monitoring and site inspections.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and design documents.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (specialization in Transportation Engineering preferred)
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC)
- 25+ years experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Experience in traffic modeling software (e.g., SIDRA, VISSIM, Synchro) is an advantage
- Knowledge of Philippine transport regulations and standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and report-writing skills
