The
Training and Development Specialist (Accounting) focuses on the organization's technical mastery of global accounting standards. This role ensures all staff are proficient in US GAAP and IFRS, complex financial reporting, and the latest accounting technologies to provide high-quality audit-ready financials for clients.
Responsibilities
- Standards Training: Create and deliver comprehensive training on the application of US GAAP and IFRS, focusing on revenue recognition, consolidations, and financial statement disclosures.
- Accounting Cycle Mastery: Oversee training for the full accounting cycle, including month-end close processes, reconciliation standards, and year-end audit preparation.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with various parts of the business and stakeholders to coordinate specialized accounting training sessions.
- Feedback & Evaluation: Collect and analyze feedback on training effectiveness, using data to refine learning-concept designs and bridge technical skill gaps.
- System Integration: Develop training for integrated accounting ecosystems (ERP systems) to ensure accuracy across platforms.
- Process Alignment: Review and revise course materials to ensure they align with the latest operating processes and international accounting procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy (Master's in Accountancy or MBA preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role or technical accounting trainer role.
- Certifications: CPA is required. Additional certifications such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or ACCA DipIFR (Diploma in IFRS) are highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and the differences between US GAAP and IFRS.
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, and Bill.com.
