Job Description

The Role

As a Trade Finance Product Manager, you will be responsible for the development and commercialization of trade and supply chain finance solutions for domestic and cross border requirements supporting business segments of the bank. You will partner with the Trade Finance Sales and Business Managers to drive new to trade client acquisitions, works on strategic product initiatives and determines focus industry segments and trade gateways for trade portfolio expansion. You will focus on building sustainable and fit-for-growth trade finance solutions, managing revenue and risk drivers.

How you'll contribute

  • Creates and launches new trade and supply chain products and solutions supporting the key business segments of the bank
  • Manages existing products to ensure their continued commercialization, update features and risk parameters based on internal and external regulatory requirements, market practice and competitor landscape to sustain the bank's value proposition
  • Performs annual or ad-hoc (as needed) Product Manual review and update
  • Manages trade and supply chain product Profit & Loss position in close coordination with FinPlan, TBG MIS and IBSD and cross validate with WBS MIS, as needed
  • Monitors the trade and supply chain revenue margins by comparing month on month fluctuations and verifying the causes, record requests for wavier or fee reduction and note significant impact to P&L.
  • Initiates a periodic (e.g. quarterly) discussion with business segments to align pricing strategy, escalate observed reductions in margins and align on the direction towards reaching the budget requirement.
  • Prepares monthly management report and highlight significant movements or events impacting the P&L
  • Actively collaborates with trade sales and business to structure, create trade finance solutions and services that are appropriate to the needs of the clients
  • Works with Product Development Team as subject matter expert on trade and supply chain in relation to trade and supply chain system enhancements and / or new system roll out and develops a strong working partnership with internal regulators for productive consultations and support in relation to product management and deal initiations.
  • Negotiates effectively with internal and external counterparties in relation to compliance, risk, legal, regulatory and commercial consultations, among others
  • Assesses big data, portfolio standing, revenue, market and competitor landscape, among others, in order to provide intelligent view for team and management consumption.
  • Monitors product commercialization, portfolio outstanding and movements, portfolio quality, adherence / deviations to product parameters, risk criteria, among others, and prepare management reports.
  • Works with MIS and FinPlan, as applicable, on revenue movements, MUFG collaboration portfolio and revenue updates, waivers and reduction of trade commissions, fees and charges; investigate, consult and provide management reports.
  • Creates learning modules and conduct product training to internal parties on trade and supply chain finance solutions.
  • Supports the Trade Finance team and / or present in Townhall, sales rallies and other management meetings to enhance the engagement of internal parties in commercializing the bank's trade and supply chain finance solutions.
  • Ensures that the product manual and structures comply with the internal compliance and risk policies of the bank including product manual governance.
  • Adheres to existing risk, compliance and banking policies such as, but not limited to, HR policies and guidelines on the day to day conduct in the office, clients, internal and external stakeholders, among others.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's / College Degree in Business Studies/ Administration/ Management, Commerce, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Industrial, Mathematics, Statistics
  • With at least 5 years of experience in trade and supply chain product management, implementation or structuring
  • Strong project management skills to be able to manage multiple priorities and drive each to completion
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present to all levels of seniority
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, results oriented, motivated, energetic and determined to deliver under pressure
