Technology OpS Support Practitioner

Own the integrity and governance of systems, including best practices for delivering services. Develop, deploy and support infrastructures, applications and technology initiatives from an architectural and operational perspective in conjunction with existing standards and methods of delivery.

We are seeking an MS SQL Server Database Administrator with 3+ years of experience to support SQL Server databases across AWS RDS/EC2 and Microsoft Azure. The role focuses on operational DBA tasks, cloud database management, monitoring, backup/restore, security, and ensuring high availability and performance. Key Responsibilities: . Install, configure, secure, and maintain SQL Server across AWS and Azure. . Support SQL databases hosted on RDS, EC2, Azure SQL, and Azure VMs. . Perform database refreshes, patching, release tasks, and maintain HA/DR solutions (Always On, replication, log shipping, Multi-AZ, failover groups). . Monitor jobs, alerts, and database health manage backups/restores using native tools, RDS snapshots, or Azure Backup. . Support schema objects (SPs, views, indexes, triggers) and manage security, roles, auditing, and encryption. . Assist in performance troubleshooting and build tuning skills. . Manage RDS configurations, EC2 SQL servers, CloudWatch/SNS/KMS/IAM integrations, and support cloud cost optimization. . Support Azure SQL DB, MI, and VM-hosted SQL use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, HA/DR (geo-replication, failover groups), and Key Vault. . Support automation using T-SQL, PowerShell, and optional tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep/ARM. . Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and respond to incidents participate in on-call rotation. . Ensure compliance with security, backup, retention, access, and auditing policies. Required Skills: . 3+ years SQL Server DBA experience strong T-SQL, SQL architecture, PowerShell skills knowledge of schema objects, relational design, backups/restores, SQL Agent jobs, and HA/DR fundamentals. . Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to deepen performance tuning and cloud expertise. Preferred: . Experience with AWS RDS/EC2, Azure SQL, cloud monitoring tools, IaC automation optional exposure to SSIS/SSRS/SSAS, ETL, and AWS DMS AWS certifications are a plus. . Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities with a proactive and learning-oriented mindset. AWS Certifications (Nice to Have): o AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA C03) o AWS SysOps Administrator - Associate (SOA C02) Minimum 2 year(s) of experience is required
