Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Ownership
- Own end-to-end delivery for the assigned team as if it were your own product
- Drive work forward proactively without waiting for European team prompts
- Identify, resolve, or mitigate blockers within hours, not days
- Reassign blocked developers to productive work within 2 hours
Technical Leadership
- Lead implementation using Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS
- Make independent decisions on task breakdown, estimation, and implementation
- Investigate unclear requirements, APIs, or business rules and proceed with reasoned assumptions
- Escalate only when necessary, with clear context and proposed solutions
Communication & Collaboration
- Work asynchronously with Netherlands-based stakeholders across time zones
- Provide structured daily updates before Europes day starts (CET)
- Communicate risks, blockers, and timeline impacts immediatelyno surprises
- Push back constructively on unclear scope or unrealistic timelines
Team Enablement
- Shield developers from ambiguity and unnecessary context switching
- Ensure the team always has productive work
- Maintain visibility on capacity, availability, and sprint health
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of overall experience in software engineering or product development
- 35 years in a Technical / Delivery Lead / Technical Project Manager role within a SaaS or product-led organization.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Azure, and AWS.
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs and RESTful services, including versioning, security, and performance considerations.
- Experience owning delivery for distributed teams working with European stakeholders
- Experience delivering ERP or complex domain systems (waste management / environmental platforms strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, make decisions within defined boundaries, and proactively resolve blockers.
Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills for async, structured reporting and stakeholder updates.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Agile / delivery certifications are a plus, but not mandatory.
