Job Description

General Responsibilities:

The Solutions Designer serves as the overall technical lead for assigned projects. This role is responsible for translating high-level architectural designs into detailed technical solutions, leading the technical implementation, and ensuring end-to-end system integration and delivery that meets business and operational requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the creation of the Solution Plan (SP) based on the High-Level Solution (HLS) provided by the Solution Architect.
  • Collaborates with the System Analyst to break down the HLS into actionable technical packages across applications and components.
  • Works closely with the Project Manager (PM) and Business Analyst (BA) to refine and validate business and technical requirements.
  • Reviews and validates the Detailed Functional Specification (DFS) with the System Analyst to ensure alignment with the planned solution.
  • Coordinates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Network Engineers, and Security teams to ensure holistic and secure end-to-end system design.
  • Oversees the setup of testing and production environments in collaboration with System Administrators and Database Administrators through the System Analyst.
  • Supports the Systems Analyst during the production handover process.
  • Leads technical readiness activities, ensuring support teams are prepared to manage the system post-deployment.
  • Oversees cutover planning and execution for deploying system enhancements into production.
  • Provides technical leadership during the stabilization period after deployment, managing escalations and production issues.
  • Partners with the PM and Service Management team to monitor system performance and assist with project closeout and knowledge transfer.

Job Specifications:

  • EducationBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Related Work Experience
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in telecommunications, IT, or Cloud services.
  • Prior experience as a technical lead in solution design or systems integration projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience in designing or supporting systems or core processes and functional areas relevant to the vertical or industry to which the role is assigned. This may include, but is not limited to, transaction processing, billing and settlement, order management, user experience platforms, service provisioning, system integration, payment systems, and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable and have basic knowledge in the following:
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and Agile/DevOps methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell scripting, Java, SQL, and cloud fundamentals
  • Familiarity with SOAP/REST APIs and enterprise integration patterns
  • Solid understanding of project delivery frameworks and governance

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective leadership of small technical teams or workstreams
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight SLAs
