Position Overview
The Tech Associate is responsible for ensuring that all products meet quality and functionality standards prior to dispatch, as well as managing returned items and conducting product repairs. This role plays a critical part in upholding customer satisfaction by maintaining the integrity and performance of all outgoing and returned merchandise.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Dispatch Product Testing
- Conduct thorough functional and quality testing of all products before dispatch to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
- Identify, document, and flag defective or non-conforming items for further review or repair prior to shipment.
- Collaborate with the fulfillment team to ensure only fully tested and approved items are dispatched to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of all pre-dispatch testing activities and results.
Returns Assessment & Management
- Receive, inspect, and assess returned products to determine condition, cause of return, and appropriate resolution (repair, restock, or write-off).
- Document all return findings accurately and communicate assessment results to relevant teams.
- Coordinate with the fulfillment team for restocking of items cleared for resale after inspection.
Product Repairs
- Diagnose and perform repairs on defective or damaged products in accordance with technical guidelines.
- Ensure repaired items are re-tested and meet quality standards before being returned to inventory or dispatched.
- Maintain repair logs and track recurring issues to support product quality improvement initiatives.
- Escalate complex or irreparable cases to senior technical staff or the appropriate department.
General Technical Support
- Assist in maintaining technical tools, equipment, and workstations in good working condition.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on product defects and failure trends.
- Perform other technical duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Graduate of Electronics Technology, Computer Technology, Information Technology, or a related technical course; TESDA certification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in product testing, technical support, or a repair-related role.
- Hands-on experience with consumer electronics, gadgets, or similar products is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware or functional product issues.
- High attention to detail and a systematic approach to testing and quality assessment.
- Good documentation skills for accurate recording of test results, returns, and repair activities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple items simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with the operations and fulfillment teams.
