About the Role

At Zepz, every transaction is more than just money, it's trust. As a Team Manager, Payment Operations, you'll lead a high-performing team that ensures funds move smoothly, securely, and on time across our global network.

We're looking for a hands-on leader who combines operational excellence with strategic influence, someone who can coach top talent, build strong relationships with payout partners, and drive improvements across the end-to-end payment lifecycle, including refund processes. What You Will Own

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:

Lead & Grow Talent

  • Build, inspire, and develop a team of Operations Executives, raising the bar for performance and accountability.
  • Drive recruitment and training that ensures every team member adds significant value.
  • Coach individuals to operate with ownership, adaptability, and continuous improvement in mind.

Deliver Operational Excellence

  • Ensure seamless execution of transactions, from payout monitoring to refund oversight, safeguarding customer trust at every step.
  • Own KPIs across payout performance, SLA adherence, and refund accuracy, addressing issues before they impact customers.
  • Investigate and resolve exceptions, automation failures, and compliance-sensitive workflows.

Strengthen Partnerships

  • Collaborate directly with payout providers and banking partners to resolve issues, improve reliability, and hold them accountable for performance.
  • Partner with Engineering, Finance, Compliance, and Customer Care to drive fast, effective resolutions and root cause fixes.
  • Represent Payment Operations in internal cross-functional meetings and strategic discussions.

Drive Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and scale operational workflows.
  • Lead initiatives that reduce manual intervention, improve partner performance, and enhance customer experience.
  • Act as a culture carrier for Zepz values, championing experimentation, resilience, and data-driven decisions.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Proven Leadership: Track record of leading and developing high-performing teams in operations, fintech, or financial services.
  • Operational Mastery: Experience managing complex, high-volume processes where accuracy and speed are critical.
  • Lifecycle Ownership: Ability to work across payouts and refunds, including automation oversight, and compliance awareness.
  • Partner-savvy: Skilled in building relationships with external providers and influencing for better performance and reliability.
  • Talent Density Mindset: Committed to raising the standard for yourself and your team, ensuring every member is a strong contributor.
  • Problem-Solving Power: Analytical thinker who digs into root causes and delivers scalable solutions.
  • Resilience & Agility: Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining focus on impact and customer trust.
  • Fintech/Payments experience preferable.
