As the General Ledger Team Lead, you will be a pivotal leader within our Manila Shared Service Center. You will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of 10-15 General Ledger Accountants, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all GL operations for assigned entities. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining financial integrity, driving process improvements, and fostering a collaborative environment.
Your Role:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-15 General Ledger Accountants.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
General Ledger Operations Oversight:
- Oversee the daily GL operations, including month-end close (MEC) activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and policies.
- Ensure the preparation and delivery of accurate financial data and reports to internal customers.
- Monitor and manage accounting processes, general ledger postings, payroll and benefits (where applicable), master data maintenance, and account reconciliations.
- Review and approve complex journal entries and reconciliations.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of reports required by local finance and Group Accounting.
- Conduct financial analysis and support pre-audit tasks.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and tax regulations.
- Escalation Management and Advanced Processing:
- Handle escalations and resolve complex GL issues.
- Perform advanced processing for sensitive GL activities.
- Provide support for user testing on ERP/GL-related tasks.
Process Improvement and Operational Excellence:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance GL processes.
- Contribute to process excellence initiatives and operational performance reporting.
- Identify and implement best practices to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with local entity finance to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with global teams.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- Master's Degree in Finance/Accounting or CPA accreditation preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in General Ledger Accounting Operations, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Profound knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP, Tax).
- Experience working in a Shared Services Center environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency with SAP or other ERP systems required.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willing to work on-site in BGC, Taguig.
- Amenable to work on a mid-shift/night-shift schedule (Regular Schedule: 3 PM-12 AM, month-end: 9 PM 6 AM).
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
