Tax Specialist

Summary

The Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Philippine tax laws and regulatory requirements. The role oversees tax reporting, VAT claims, tax audits, statutory filings, and provides tax advisory support while working closely with external consultants and internal stakeholders. The position also provides functional guidance to the Treasury Officer and helps strengthen internal tax controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance (VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and statutory filings).
• Manage tax reconciliations, documentation, and audit readiness.
• Coordinate VAT claims, tax audits, and BIR assessments with external tax consultants.
• Handle SEC and other regulatory filings (AFS, GIS, etc.).
• Monitor tax law updates and advise the business on tax implications.
• Support tax initiatives such as e-invoicing, transfer pricing, and tax health checks.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Shared Services, and Treasury to maintain compliance.
• Provide functional guidance to the Treasury Officer and support implementation of tax strategies.

Key Skills

• min 3 years experience in tax compliance, accounting, or finance (preferably in a multinational environment).
• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations (VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax).
• Experience handling BIR audits and working with external tax consultants.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• CPA qualification is an advantage.
• Leadership experience or the ability to guide finance team members.
