Tax Specialist Job Description
The Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring the companys compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. This role handles tax filings, prepares reports, supports audits, and provides guidance on tax-related matters to minimize risks and optimize tax efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT, withholding taxes, income tax) accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, including Bureau of Internal Revenue requirements
- Monitor tax deadlines and maintain tax calendars
- Assist in tax audits, investigations, and assessments
- Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accuracy of tax-related entries
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for tax filings
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding tax compliance requirements
- Provide tax advice and support to management when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred
- At least 24 years of relevant tax experience
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and compliance
- Experience in dealing with Bureau of Internal Revenue processes and audits
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting systems
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
