Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of tax planning and compliance strategies of the business unit.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all local and national tax returns.
- Conduct regular reviews of tax compliance to ensure adherence to BIR, LGU, and BOC requirements.
- Handle day-to-day tax matters, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
- Assist in handling BIR, LGU, and Customs audits, inspections, and permit requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external parties (auditors, consultants, government agencies) for tax-related concerns.
- Monitor updates in tax laws, regulations, and issuances; cascade relevant information to concerned teams.
- Support in addressing tax issues, assessments, and notices received from regulatory bodies.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for all tax filings and transactions.
- Provide basic tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance requirements and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- At least 24 years of experience in Tax Compliance, Tax Advisory, or Tax Audit.
- Working knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations (BIR, LGU, BOC).
- Familiar with accounting standards and basic financial reporting.
- With exposure to BIR and/or LGU audits; experience in BOC is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple deadlines.
- Good communication skills and able to coordinate effectively with internal and external parties.
