Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of tax planning and compliance strategies of the business unit.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all local and national tax returns.
  • Conduct regular reviews of tax compliance to ensure adherence to BIR, LGU, and BOC requirements.
  • Handle day-to-day tax matters, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
  • Assist in handling BIR, LGU, and Customs audits, inspections, and permit requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external parties (auditors, consultants, government agencies) for tax-related concerns.
  • Monitor updates in tax laws, regulations, and issuances; cascade relevant information to concerned teams.
  • Support in addressing tax issues, assessments, and notices received from regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for all tax filings and transactions.
  • Provide basic tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance requirements and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 24 years of experience in Tax Compliance, Tax Advisory, or Tax Audit.
  • Working knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations (BIR, LGU, BOC).
  • Familiar with accounting standards and basic financial reporting.
  • With exposure to BIR and/or LGU audits; experience in BOC is an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and able to coordinate effectively with internal and external parties.
