This requires deeper capabilities with specialized knowledge of tax compliance. Services provided include preparing tax return compliance, tax assessment support, addressing tax queries, and providing general tax compliance advice.

The objective of our Tax Global Compliance and Reporting Services is to provide clients with a reliable overview of their tax positions and obligations. Our solutions can be used by our clients to minimize tax risks, comply with regulations, and optimize their tax positions.

Your key responsibilities

As an Associate within the Global Compliance and Reporting Services, you will:

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws.
  • Provide tax advice to clients on various compliance matters and potential tax implications of business decisions.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to support client advisory and compliance work.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax disclosures and working on tax accounting in financial statements under various accounting standards.
  • Contribute to the creation of comprehensive working papers and documentation that support tax filings and substantiate the tax positions taken.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, gathering necessary information, resolving tax-related inquiries, and providing regular updates on the progress of the tax compliance process.
  • Other areas of support may include but not limited to: maintaining the accounting records in accordance with the local financial reporting framework, assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with the local financial framework and administer payroll processing including but not limited to the computation of monthly government remittances and withholding taxes.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Demonstrates understanding of regulatory compliance processes.
  • Awareness of tax reform laws and impacts. Can identify the impact on financial statements based on tax reform laws.
  • Awareness of regulatory compliance processes relevant to the finance functions, based on the set of guidelines relevant to the industry, sector and or jurisdiction.
  • Ability to implement Standard Operating Procedure to create consistent approach to compliance and regulation.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the basics of accounting principles and standards based on the Philippine Financial Reporting Standard (PFRS).
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of tax policies, regulations and enforcement to prevent tax controversy, manage risk and resolve disputes.
  • Research best practice around tax controversy and tax compliance. Assist in audits to help manage risk.
  • Understands the rationale and necessity for continuous learning.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and the determination to proactively elevate own level of performance
  • Able to explain the impact of tax legislations as related to organization tax policies and procedures for calculation purposes.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Willingness to travel on local or overseas assignment as the need arises
  • Project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Leadership, teamwork and client service skills
  • Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment
  • Strong research skills, including knowledge of Tax Code provisions, updated BIR rulings, and relevant court decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Open to fresh graduates up to maximum 3 years experience in tax or related field
