The Role
We are seeking a versatile Systems Administrator/Engineer to manage our server and endpoint environments. You will ensure the reliability of our mixed OS ecosystem (Windows, Linux, MacOS), manage identity providers, and drive efficiency through automation and virtualization.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Virtualization
- Virtual Environments: Administer and maintain virtual environments, including hosted clusters (Proxmox VE) and guest VMs, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- File Servers (NAS): Design, manage, and maintain file servers and Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Infrastructure Core: Manage Windows Server infrastructure (AD, DNS, DFS, CA) and Linux environments.
- Security Baselines: Implement and enforce security baselines across all systems as per approved organizational standards.
Endpoint & Identity Management
- Endpoint Management: Oversee full lifecycle management for all supported OS and devices (Windows, macOS, Linux, Mobile) using our Endpoint Management tool.
- Identity: Manage user identities and conditional access policies in Google Workspace and Microsoft EntraID.
Service & Incident Management
- L2/L3 Support: Resolve escalated tickets related to server errors, application crashes, or complex authentication failures.
- Critical Response: Lead the resolution of Severity 1 (Critical) system outages (e.g., Active Directory failure, Storage Cluster crash) to rapidly restore service.
- Service Restoration: Manage the recovery of failed services (e.g., file servers, print servers, authentication services) within defined SLAs.
Change, Problem & Asset Management
- Asset Management: Manage the full lifecycle of enterprise assets, including inventory tracking, license/maintenance renewals, and end-of-life planning.
- BCDR: Manage and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) plans for enterprise infrastructure, ensuring redundancy and regular failover testing.
- Automation: Utilize automation scripts and workflows to deploy standard configurations and reduce manual errors during changes.
- RCA and PM: Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for incidents to eliminate underlying configuration or hardware faults and eliminate recurring incidents, track known errors, and improve system stability.
Knowledge Management, Playbooks & Runbooks
- Technical Runbooks: Maintain detailed Runbooks for critical maintenance tasks.
- Incident Playbooks: Design and update Incident Playbooks for system emergencies.
- Knowledge base/KEDB: Create and maintain a strong Known Error Database (KEDB) for faster fixes by recording incident trend analysis, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and workarounds/fixes.
- Runbooks: Maintain Runbooks for critical server maintenance tasks.
- BCDR: Manage and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) plans for enterprise infrastructure, ensuring automated configuration backups, log retention is secure, redundancy and regular failover testing.
Continuous Monitoring, Improvement & Reporting
- Monitor: Track server health, Backup Verification Logs, Endpoint Compliance Scores, and Identity Security.
- Improve: Analyze historical metrics to optimize Resource Allocation and refine Automation Workflows to increase operational efficiency.
- Report: Generate periodic reports on System Availability, Security Compliance Posture (Patch levels, vulnerability status), Storage Growth Forecasts, and results of BCDR Drills.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering, IT, or Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience
- 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Systems Engineering or Administration.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to deal with people of different levels in the organization
- Highly analytical and with excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Must be willing to work on site in Ortigas Center, Pasig City
Certifications
- Required (At least one):
- CompTIA A/Linux/Server/Cloud+
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)/Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)/Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/801)/IA Administrator Associate (SC-300)
Preferred (but not required): ITIL 4 Foundation, CompTIA Project/Network/Security+, Google Workspace Administrator
