Job Description: Supply Chain Manager Tea Company

Location: Calauan, Laguna, Philippines

Employment Type: Full-Time

Department: Supply Chain & Operations

Reports To: COO / BUSINESS UNIT HEAD

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize the company's procurement, importation, production coordination, and infrastructure-related sourcing activities. This position plays a key role in managing international imports from Taiwan and Vietnam, coordinating with toll manufacturers for tea production, and overseeing construction and infrastructure procurement for company facilities such as warehouses, production areas, and retail expansions.

The ideal candidate has strong operational discipline, deep knowledge of Philippine import regulations, experience in manufacturing partnerships, and solid understanding of construction-related sourcing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Importation & International Logistics

Manage the end-to-end importation process of tea leaves, ingredients, machinery, and packaging from Taiwan and Vietnam. And other raw materials from other countries of origin.

Ensure complete and accurate preparation of all import documentation (e.g., CI, PL, COO, FDA permits, Phytosanitary Certificates).

Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely, compliant clearance of shipments.

Monitor ocean and air freight schedules, costs, and Incoterms to optimize lead times.

2. Toll Manufacturing & Production Coordination

Manage relationships with toll manufacturers handling tea blending, packaging, filling, and related processes.

Negotiate production rates, timelines, MOQs, and SLA performance metrics.

Oversee production scheduling, raw material issuance, and product quality alignment with company standards.

Conduct regular plant visits, capability assessments, and compliance audits (e.g., GMP, HACCP).

Resolve operational bottlenecks, quality deviations, and manufacturing delays.

3. Construction & Infrastructure Procurement

Lead procurement efforts for warehouse construction, production facility upgrades, retail store buildouts, and infrastructure improvements.

Source and evaluate contractors, architects, engineers, and suppliers for construction materials and services.

Manage bidding, cost comparisons, contract negotiations, and compliance with building and safety regulations.

Monitor project timelines, procurement budgets, and vendor performance in coordination with project managers and engineering teams.

Ensure procurement strategies support long-term asset durability and sustainability goals.

4. Inventory Management & Demand Planning

Maintain optimal stock levels for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

Collaborate with Sales and Production teams to build accurate forecasts and production plans.

Implement strategies to reduce stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.

Track consumption patterns and adjust planning parameters accordingly.

5. Procurement & Supplier Management

Develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, and lead time.

Conduct supplier evaluations, negotiations, and periodic performance reviews.

Maintain strong relationships with regional suppliers, manufacturers, and construction service providers.

Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high quality and operational reliability.

6. Operational Excellence & Reporting

Standardize procurement, importation, and manufacturing procedures for efficiency and compliance.

Create reports and dashboards that cover inventory levels, procurement KPIs, import status, manufacturing outputs, and project spending.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, QA, and Operations teams.

Support the activities and work alongside the Head of Procurement / Procurement Manager

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field. Relevant subjects Supply Chain Management, Costing-Pricing,

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics roles.

Strong background in import operations, ideally with exposure to Taiwan and Vietnam suppliers.

Being able to speak Vietnamese (ting Vit) and/or Mandarin Chinese is plus.

Experience working with toll or contract manufacturers in food, beverage, FMCG, or related sectors.

Experience in construction or infrastructure procurement required.

Excellent negotiation skills and understanding of supplier contracts, especially SLA management.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.

Knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance (FDA, GMP, HACCP) is preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly expanding environment.
