Role Overview
The Head of Supermarket Operations oversees the end-to-end daily performance of the supermarket network, ensuring operational efficiency, strong financial results, and an exceptional customer experience. This role provides strategic leadership, drives store excellence, and ensures consistent execution of standards across all branches. It works closely with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, elevate service quality, and achieve overall business growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Management, Operations Management, or any related field; MBA is an advantage.
- Extensive experience in retail or supermarket operations, preferably in multi-store leadership at a senior or executive level.
- Proven track record in overseeing store operations, driving profitability, and managing large teams.
- Strong understanding of retail KPIs, merchandising, inventory management, and customer service standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to develop and implement operational strategies, process improvements, and store performance initiatives.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to drive business outcomes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and customer-focused retail environment.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations across the entire supermarket network, ensuring smooth, efficient, and profitable store performance.
- Oversee implementation of operational standards, store guidelines, customer service protocols, and compliance requirements across all branches.
- Drive financial performance by monitoring sales, controlling costs, managing budgets, and ensuring achievement of profitability targets.
- Ensure consistent execution of merchandising plans, inventory management strategies, and product availability across stores.
- Strengthen overall customer experience by evaluating service quality, store ambiance, and customer feedback, and implementing improvements as needed.
- Develop operational strategies, performance metrics, and process enhancements to continuously improve store efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance oversight to store managers and operational teams.
- Coordinate with merchandising, marketing, supply chain, HR, and other departments to support store operations and business initiatives.
- Ensure all stores adhere to health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
- Analyze operational data, identify trends, and recommend solutions to address operational challenges.
- Lead expansion, store openings, refurbishments, and operational readiness for new locations.
- Represent the operations division in executive-level discussions, presenting operational insights, challenges, and improvement plans.
