The Role

  • Inventory Tracking and Monitoring: Ensuring all inventory items are accurately recorded, including quantity, location, and status.
  • Use inventory management systems to track the flow of stock.
  • Inventory Valuation: Regularly assessing inventory to determine the value of the stock, which usually involves cost accounting and periodic inventory audits.
  • Procurement Management: Developing purchasing strategies based on inventory levels and forecasted demand to ensure adequate supply without overstocking.
  • Optimizing Inventory Levels: Optimizing stock levels through demand forecasting and analysis of historical data to minimize surplus and shortages.
  • Cost Control: Monitoring costs associated with inventory, such as purchase costs, storage costs, and shrinkage, to optimize total costs.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensuring all inventory management activities comply with relevant laws and regulations and preparing necessary reports and documentation to support financial reporting and audits.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously reviewing and improving inventory management processes, adopting new technologies or methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinating with suppliers, sales teams, production departments, and finance departments to ensure smooth and consistent inventory management processes.

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in asset management, financial analysis, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices, particularly as they relate to asset valuation and depreciation.
  • Proficiency in asset management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Excel and other analytical
