Job Description
As the Sr Tax Manager, you will:
- Manage compliance and reporting requirements with tax authorities, such as the timely filing and payment of Income Tax, Value-Added Tax, Percentage Taxes, Documentary Stamp Taxes, Withholding Taxes, as applicable, including the preparation of the supporting computations and schedules as well as other filing requirements of the tax authorities.
- Assist and review tax-related computations for internal reporting including deferred tax computations and tax provisions.
- Develop, maintain and update the tax compliance and operations manuals.
- Work closely, and liaise, with tax consultants to ensure that potential compliance issues are dealt with and addressed appropriately, including transfer pricing, advisory and other matters that may impact the Group's tax compliance and processes.
- Handle tax audits and respond to inquiries of tax authorities, including the preparation of documents requested and the filing of response letters and/or protests.
- Keep abreast with latest developments on tax practices and legislations and prepare necessary memoranda for internal processes affected by the amendments and/or new rules.
- Participate in reviewing tax impact on business decisions.
- Provide tax advisory services and support to business units and work closely with other stakeholders regarding the Group's tax compliance.
- Ensure transfer pricing documentations are available and maintained to mitigate local transfer pricing risks.
- Process tax treaty applications with the BIR, as applicable.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Sr Tax Manager Should Have
- Must be a CPA, Degree in Accounting
- At least 8-10 years experience in a tax professional environment.
- Good attention to details and able to perform self-checks.
- Advanced MS Excel user and working competence in using accounting systems.
- Must have experience working in a bank or auditing banks.
- Preferably with working knowledge or background in tax structuring, transfer pricing and cross-border transactions.
- Willing to embrace and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
