Role Summary:

The Global Compliance Reporting Team is responsible for delivering consistent, accurate and timely compliance risk insights to senior leadership and governance bodies across the enterprise. The team consolidates compliance and risk data across regions and business units, translates complex regulatory and risk information into decision-ready reporting, and supports effective oversight of Northern Trust's compliance program, compliance risk posture, and regulatory commitments.

This Sr. Compliance Risk Consultant (2nd Vice President) is a senior-level individual contributor within the Global Compliance Reporting Team. The role supports enterprise-wide compliance oversight through metrics calibration, data consolidation, risk intelligence analysis, and structured management reporting and collaboration across multiple business units. This role will report to the Global Compliance Reporting Compliance Risk Manager.

This position requires strong judgment, deep technical expertise in compliance and risk management, and a track record of project management, working with diverse, cross-functional teams and stakeholders across organization. This role offers the opportunity to operate at a senior level within Compliance Reporting, with direct exposure to enterprise-wide risk and compliance insights, senior leadership engagement, and the ability to help shape and scale a growing compliance reporting function.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead the consolidation, analysis, and reporting of compliance and legal risk data across business units and legal entities to support effective management of the future‑state operating model.
  • Design, deliver, and continuously enhance compliance metrics, dashboards, and reports, ensuring they provide clear insight into risk exposure, trends, regulatory issues, and remediation status.
  • Partner with other Compliance, Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, Data & Technology teams and Business Units to develop scalable, data‑led solutions that enable accurate data collection, interpretation, trend analysis, and effective reporting.
  • Produce executive‑level materials including reports, dashboards, presentations, and visual aids that translate complex compliance and risk concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior management and governance forums.
  • Provide forward‑looking risk insights by identifying emerging risks, patterns, and areas of heightened regulatory exposure, supporting proactive decision‑making and continuous improvement.
  • Support compliance reporting management through ongoing monitoring of key deliverables, metrics, regulatory issues, remediation activities, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by performing reviews to validate accuracy, completeness, and consistency of compliance and risk data across reporting cycles.
  • Assist working groups and change initiatives by preparing materials, coordinating stakeholders, and promoting collaboration, consistency, and a forward‑looking design and implementation approach.
  • Proactively manage deliverables and dependencies, anticipating potential issues, escalating roadblocks in a timely manner, and driving resolution with an end‑to‑end ownership mindset.
  • Help shape and strengthen enterprise capabilities by contributing to best practices, standards, toolkits, documentation, and knowledge transfer to support sustainable compliance and legal risk reporting and future team growth.
  • Support additional initiatives, priorities, and responsibilities as required to ensure the effective execution and resilience of the Compliance Reporting function.

Skills / Experience

  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and risk matters within the financial services industry, including asset servicing, wealth management, banking, and emerging regulatory themes.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and interpreting risk metrics, reports, and dashboards, leveraging diverse risk intelligence sources to deliver a holistic and accurate view of the enterprise risk position.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic business insight through data and analytics, using metrics, tools, and ad‑hoc reporting to identify trends, inform decision‑making, and support forward‑looking risk management.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to establish credibility, build trust‑based partnerships across the organization, and act as an effective conduit between business and non‑business teams.
  • Proactive, continuous‑improvement mindset with strong problem‑solving and organizational skills, including the ability to take initiative, manage complexity, escalate appropriately, and produce high‑quality executive‑level presentations and reports.
