Senior Backend Developer (FastAPI/Python)

Role Summary
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling the server-side architecture of Kyrios 2.0, an AI-driven healthcare engagement platform. You will work on REST/GraphQL APIs, AI integrations, and data pipelines, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. Your role will involve collaborating with AI/ML engineers, data teams, and product managers to build intelligent, agentic workflows and real-time automation for healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- API Development: Design, develop, and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs for core platform modules (community forums, CME, AI-driven targeting, and recruiter automation).
- AI Integration: Build and integrate GenAI, Agentic AI, and LangChain/LangGraph-based pipelines for HCP profiling, lead scoring, and personalized recommendations.
- Database Optimization: Architect and optimize PostgreSQL and MongoDB schemas for performance, scalability, and multi-tenancy.
- Third-Party Integrations: Integrate payment gateways, SMS/email services, face recognition APIs, and AI endpoints (e.g., LLM inference, vector databases).
- Performance & Security: Implement caching (Redis), job queues, API rate limiting, and security best practices (OAuth, JWT, data encryption).
- DevOps & Cloud: Deploy and monitor services on AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3) using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CDK).
- Testing & Documentation: Write unit/integration tests, maintain API documentation, and ensure code quality through peer reviews.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
- Backend:FastAPI, Python, Django/Flask (bonus), async programming.
- Databases:PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and experience with data modeling for scale.
- AI/ML: Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and Agentic AI frameworks.
- Cloud & DevOps: AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
- APIs: REST/GraphQL, WebSockets, and third-party API integrations.
- Data Pipelines: Experience with ETL, feature stores, and MLOps for AI model deployment.
Soft Skills:
- 5-8 years of backend development experience, preferably in SaaS, healthcare, or data-driven platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Startup mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and ownership.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with healthcare data (HIPAA/GDPR compliance) or market research tools.
- Exposure to multi-modal AI, fine-tuning LLMs, or autonomous agent systems.
