Position Overview:

Responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting for Philippine and U.S. entities in compliance with US GAAP and PFRS. Handles complex accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency revaluations. Oversees end-to-end accounts payable processesinvoice approvals, payments, reimbursements, and tax compliance. Supports audits and drives process improvements to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Makati office.

Base Pay Range

The base pay range of this position is PHP80,000 to PHP90,000 per month. Additional compensation through the Incentive Bonus Program is available for this position after successfully completing 6-months of employment.

Please note that the provided range reflects the pay spectrum for positions within the same job category as the one to which this position belongs. The final offer will consider various factors, such as location, education, and prior experience, to ensure a comprehensive and fair compensation assessment.

Expected Posting Timelines

This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, a maximum of 90 days.

The Day-to-Day

Accounting and Financial Close

  • Lead preparation and posting of accounting journal entries
  • Perform and review key account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, intercompany, and clearing accounts), ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, PFRS, and internal reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and related reportsincluding balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and detailed schedulesfor management and external audit review.
  • Coordinate with intercompany partners, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of financial data.

Tax Operations & Compliance

  • Own and maintain tax compliance calendar for Philippine and U.S. entities, ensuring all returns, payments, and attachments are prepared, reviewed internally, and filed in-house on time.
  • Prepare and file Philippine statutory tax requirements as applicable (e.g., withholding taxes, VAT/other indirect taxes, and income tax returns), including compilation of required attachments/alphalists and maintenance of complete filing workpapers.
  • Prepare and file U.S. information reporting (e.g., 1099) by maintaining clean vendor master data (TIN/W-forms on file as applicable), validating reportability, reconciling to the GL, and resolving exceptions before submission.
  • Maintain and reconcile tax-related balance sheet accounts monthly, investigate variances, and post/coordinate required journal entries and true-ups.
  • Ensure tax filings tie out to the general ledger and statutory schedules; document assumptions, calculations, and reconciliations to support auditability and consistency across periods.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally (Payroll and HR) to obtain timely data inputs and to ensure tax-sensitive transactions are correctly coded and supported at source.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements across U.S. and Philippine entities.
  • Prepare and review statutory and management reports, tax filings, and other regulatory submissions in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate schedules, reconciliations, and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Monitor adherence to corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation standards to maintain audit readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen compliance frameworks and streamline reporting processes to improve accuracy and transparency.

Process Improvement & Systems Support

  • Lead the design and implementation of automation opportunities within Accounting and Tax and related finance workflows, including reporting, reconciliation, and approval routing.
  • Support efforts to strengthen internal controls, enhance audit readiness, and maintain compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support ERP system migrations, upgrades, and financial tool implementations (SAP preferred), including tax-relevant configurations and reporting requirements as applicable.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and rollout of system enhancements to ensure accuracy and efficiency in accounting and tax processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation and process improvement opportunities that enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Support ad hoc finance projects or strategic initiatives as assigned by leadership.
  • Provide accounting support for operational initiatives, cost controls, and budgeting efforts.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive financial reporting and accounting experience, with meaningful tax compliance/reporting exposure
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  • Experience working with external parties such as auditors and/or tax advisors is a plus
  • Proficient in productivity tools such as Google Workspace, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • SAP ERP experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, both independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Attention to Detail: Precision is critical in accounting to ensure accuracy in financial data and reports.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and interpret trends or variances.
