The Sr. Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries and maintaining the Company's general ledger and third-party transactions, assisting in the designing controls for the Company's SOX program. Responsible for ad-hoc accounting, internal controls, and regulatory/compliance, and technical research and analyzing accruals and performing reconciliations.
Job Description
Provides timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting across accounting and finance jobs. Entry level support for a specific area from transactions created through management reporting including compliance with SOX regulations.
Responsibilities
- Support the validation of accurate entry of transactions into the accounting system through daily, monthly, and quarterly account reconciliations and monitoring.
- Review and process disbursements for employee travel and expense reports. Support the accounting management team and business units with the budgeting, cost management, reporting, and forecasting initiatives.
- Manage all month end accounting for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, unpaid invoice accruals, payroll, cost allocations, and account reconciliations.
- Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
- Create and update processes and procedures for journal entries.
- Post journal entries
- Reconcile GL accounts, inclusive of, clearing any reconciling items
- Prepare various month-end schedules to assist with closing the books
- Prepare various quarter-end SEC schedules
- Prepare various quarter-end Call Report schedules
- Review GL accounts and wbs for reasonableness
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
- Assist with correcting problems discovered with the posting of loan activity
- Support the validation of accurate entry of transactions into the accounting system through daily, monthly, and quarterly account reconciliations and monitoring.

Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Good experience in general ledger accounting
- Skilled in preparing journal entries and financial reports
- Knowledgeable in U.S. accounting standards and regulatory requirements
