Sommelier
Job Summary
The Sommelier is responsible for developing and maintaining the restaurant's wine program, assisting guests with wine selections, and ensuring a world-class beverage experience. This role requires deep knowledge of wines, food pairings, and proper wine service techniques across different dining settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and manage the restaurant's wine list, ensuring a balanced and diverse selection.
- Recommend wines to complement menu items and enhance the dining experience.
- Train service staff on wine knowledge, storage, and serving standards.
- Monitor and maintain proper storage, inventory, and cellar organization.
- Assist in planning and hosting wine tastings, pairing dinners, and promotional events.
- Maintain vendor relationships and manage wine procurement within budget guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified Sommelier or equivalent training preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and vintages.
- Strong understanding of wine and food pairing principles.
- Excellent customer service and presentation skills.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sommelier or wine steward in a fine dining or hotel restaurant setting.
