Sommelier

Job Summary

The Sommelier is responsible for developing and maintaining the restaurant's wine program, assisting guests with wine selections, and ensuring a world-class beverage experience. This role requires deep knowledge of wines, food pairings, and proper wine service techniques across different dining settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate and manage the restaurant's wine list, ensuring a balanced and diverse selection.
  • Recommend wines to complement menu items and enhance the dining experience.
  • Train service staff on wine knowledge, storage, and serving standards.
  • Monitor and maintain proper storage, inventory, and cellar organization.
  • Assist in planning and hosting wine tastings, pairing dinners, and promotional events.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and manage wine procurement within budget guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Certified Sommelier or equivalent training preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and vintages.
  • Strong understanding of wine and food pairing principles.
  • Excellent customer service and presentation skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sommelier or wine steward in a fine dining or hotel restaurant setting.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Working Conditions / Environment
