Your Role: As a Software Tester, you will:
- Test Planning and Execution
Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
Conduct functional, regression, and integration testing.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts (UI/API).
Participate actively in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Perform root cause analysis on defects and propose improvements.
Contribute to test documentation and reporting.
Collaborate with developers, BAs, and PMs for quality delivery.
Testing Execution and Quality Assurance
Execute manual test cases and log results accurately.
Identify, document, and track software defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
Assist in preparing and maintaining test data and environments.
Perform regression and smoke testing to ensure system stability.
Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand system functionality and resolve defects.
Support test documentation including test cases, checklists, and results.
Test Automation and CI/CD
Build and maintain automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions).
Monitor and maintain stability of automated test suites.
Support ongoing automation improvements to increase test coverage and efficiency.
Learning and Development
Apply basic automation concepts under supervision.
Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and code/test reviews.
Actively seek opportunities to improve technical and testing skills.
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate in Agile ceremonies to align testing goals with sprint outcomes.
Contribute to the enhancement of QA processes, templates, and best practices.
Support mentoring and peer reviews within the QA team.
Actively engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment of quality expectations.
What You Need: Non-negotiables
- 2-4 years of experience in software testing or QA roles.
- Experience in both manual and automation testing required.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Foundation or equivalent) desirable.
- Strong experience in manual testing of web and API applications.
- Proficiency with automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress).
- API testing using Supertest, Postman, Newman, or REST Assured.
- SQL proficiency (joins, data validation, stored procedures).
- Experience with CI/CD integration of automated tests.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Version control experience using Git (branching/merging).
- Basic scripting in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
- Optional: Performance testing (JMeter, k6), security testing basics (OWASP), or mobile testing (Appium, BrowserStack).
