Software QA Engineer (Web and Mobile)

The Software QA Engineer (Web and Mobile Apps) will be a key contributor in ensuring the quality and reliability of our customer-facing web and mobile applications. Reporting to the Web Dev Team Lead, this role focuses primarily on comprehensive manual testing while supporting automated testing initiatives as directed. The QA Engineer will work closely with developers and product teams in an agile environment to identify, document, and resolve issues, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning and Execution

Develop and execute detailed test cases and test plans for both web and mobile applications.

Timely completion of test cycles with high test coverage and minimal escaped defects.

Manual Testing Excellence

Conduct thorough manual testing to identify and document functional, usability, and performance issues. Identify and report defects, track issues, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

Accurate and actionable defect reporting, leading to reduced defect recurrence and faster resolution times.

Support for Test Automation

Assist in executing automated tests and work with the Web Dev Team lead QA to integrate automation into the testing process.

Effective use of automation tools as part of the testing strategy, contributing to overall testing efficiency.

Agile Collaboration & Communication

Actively participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and collaborate closely with developers and product teams.

Consistent and clear communication of testing progress and timely resolution of reported issues.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB) and any certifications in test automation tools are a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong emphasis on manual and automated testing.
• Exposure to automated testing tools and methodologies is advantageous.
• Experience in testing mobile applications.
• Hands-on experience in API testing using tools like Postman.
• Experience working in agile teams.
• Must be willing to work in Ortigas, Pasig (Hybrid Work Setup)
