We are looking for Software QA Analyst
to assist AVP of IT QA in defining and developing in-house quality procedures, standards, best practices, metrics and new QA tools to ensure quality goal is met. He or she will work with the business and project teams to identify appropriate test coverage as necessary to support the delivery of the application. He or she should be a strong team player and self-starter who is flexible, shows initiative and uses creativity to meet challenges in a fast paced QA environment. The Sr. QA Software QA Analyst should be knowledgeable and passionate about automated software validation and has the drive to continuously improve the software quality while reducing the overhead of software validation. He or she will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will have the ability to work effectively in a cross-disciplinary team, across multiple projects and multiple locations.
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of software validation experience, including all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- 1+ years of experience creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts using professional quality custom developed or industry standard tools.
- Understanding and experience validating web- and non-web based multi-tiered Microsoft or Java applications.
- 4+ years of experience with MySQL, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server and related database and query analysis tools.
- Familiar with test automation tools (for example SoapUI, Cucumber and Selenium Selenium) as well as performance testing tools (i.e. load runner, Jmeter, visual studio etc.)
- Fundamental understanding of Microsoft and Linux based Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of QA processes, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Ability to see the business application beyond the software requirements.
- Demonstrated skills in validating high-quality applications in reduced cycle-time environments
- Demonstrated experience in continuously improving product quality
- Meticulous in completing tasks on schedule, with high quality, and with attention to detail
- Experience in Agile or Extreme Programming environments
- Very strong team player yet self-motivated and able to make progress without needing much direction
- Must be able to effectively work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in coding languages (C#/Python) and frameworks (TestNG, TDD, BDD, Hybrid Frameworks)
- Experience with various tools like MS project, Jira, ADO etc. is a plus
- Coding or scripting experience a plus
- Project Management skills
Qualifications Required
- Bachelors degree or related experience
- Have at least 3 years system and integration test experience
- Experience in defining and developing QA processes, standards and best practices
- Working knowledge of Database - web based applications
- Working knowledge of Agile Test Techniques
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Develop test plans, define and create test scenarios, execute test scripts, assess test results, and report defects as directed.
- Help move test cases from manual execution to automation
- Effectively work with development to gather requirements when no BA is available.
- Work with software engineers as needed to identify and resolve defects.
- Complete understanding of SDLC management practices and methodologies with emphasis on software defect identification
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to schedule SW testing
- Able to work with Project Manager and with multiple teams across the company
- Able to work with Business and Stakeholder
- Understand business application
- Develop metrics across all testing scenarios e.g. functional, regression, integration and performance
- Manage risks and issues relating to test management and project deliverables
- Communicate testing results to all impacted stakeholders, and manage their resolution
Nonessential Functions
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
- CSTE/ISQTB is a plus
- Prior experience with Jira: preferred
- 1-2 years mortgage or financial industry experience: desirable
