About the Opportunity

We are looking for an AI-Native Software Engineer to join our client's engineering team in Dubai.

Our client is building a next-generation eInvoicing and ERP integration platform, connecting businesses finance systems to the UAE's Peppol-based eInvoicing network.

This is a hands-on, full-stack engineering role combining Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, ERP integrations, AWS cloud technologies, and AI-assisted software development.

You'll work directly with the VP of Engineering, taking ownership of features, integrations, and production systems while leveraging AI coding agents throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java 17, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript.
• Build and enhance REST APIs, backend services, and ERP integration connectors.
• Integrate enterprise ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Oracle Fusion, and SAP, alongside accounting systems such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, and Odoo.
• Develop integrations for Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), invoicing, credit notes, tax configurations, and financial data processing.
• Handle data exchange through REST APIs, OData, XML, and JSON, ensuring reliable integration across multiple systems.
• Implement robust integration mechanisms covering retries, idempotency, asynchronous processing, error handling, and data validation.
• Leverage AI coding tools and agent-based workflows, particularly Claude Code, for requirements analysis, development, testing, debugging, code reviews, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain automated tests, including unit testing, database-backed integration testing, and Playwright end-to-end testing.
• Support cloud-based deployments and infrastructure across AWS services.
• Investigate production issues, troubleshoot integrations, and support customer onboarding.
• Collaborate with technical stakeholders, product teams, and customers finance departments to deliver reliable solutions.
• Follow established engineering processes, including Git branching, peer-reviewed pull requests, CI/CD pipelines, and production change control.

Technical Requirements

Core Development

• 3–5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java / Spring Boot and/or TypeScript / React.
• Solid understanding of REST API design, SQL, PostgreSQL, Git, and Docker.
• Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications and integrations.

ERP & Financial Systems Integration

• Hands-on integration experience with at least one major ERP platform, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, Oracle Fusion, or SAP.
• Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or Odoo.
• Understanding of AR/AP processes, invoice lifecycles, credit notes, tax configurations, and financial master data.
• Experience working with APIs, OData, XML/JSON data exchange, and asynchronous integrations.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues across multiple systems and legal entities.

AI-Native Engineering

• Practical experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar agentic coding tools.
• Experience incorporating AI agents into software design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Ability to critically review AI-generated code, identify errors, and validate solutions independently.
• Strong understanding of software quality, automated testing, and secure development practices.

Cloud & DevOps

• Working knowledge of AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and Bedrock.
• Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, authentication, authorization, and API security.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Peppol, eInvoicing, UBL/XML schemas, or AS4 messaging.
• Exposure to fintech, regulatory technology, tax compliance, or financial services platforms.
• Experience with Kong API Gateway, FusionAuth, or AWS Bedrock.
• Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS platforms and complex enterprise integrations.
