Role Summary
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will be part of a global Agile product team supporting Work & Rewards Advisory Technology and Data Technology platforms. This role focuses on building and maintaining high-quality automated tests and test frameworks using C#/.NET to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performing applications. You will champion quality across the software development lifecycle and help deliver cutting-edge technology solutions to internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality automated acceptance tests based on acceptance criteria and quality standards
- Support continuous and daily automated test execution by ensuring adequate test coverage and timely resolution of test failures
- Collaborate closely with Scrum teams to identify the most valuable tests to automate and support sprint delivery goals
- Integrate best practices in test automation, including modularity, reusability, and maintainable code design
- Advocate a shift-left testing mindset, embedding quality early in the development lifecycle
- Serve as a quality champion within the Scrum team and actively contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions (e.g., lunch & learns, brown bags)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent practical experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of Agile software development principles
- Intermediate experience testing web applications
- Intermediate experience in:
- API-based automated testing
- UI automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Unit testing frameworks
- Working knowledge of how web applications function end-to-end
- Ability to convert manual test cases into automated test scripts
- Strong technical foundation with proficiency in C# or a similar programming language
- Basic knowledge of: Application profiling concepts, SQL and database performance tuning (T-SQL)
Nice to Have / Preferred Skills
- Experience writing test scenarios using Gherkin (BDD)
- Exposure to front-end and web technologies (JavaScript, CSS, XML, Angular, Ajax, jQuery)
- Knowledge of development and database tools (Visual Studio, VS Code, SSMS, Azure SQL)
- Experience with:
- Automated visual testing tools (e.g., Applitools, BrowserStack)
- CI/CD pipelines for automated testing
- Application monitoring and debugging tools (e.g., Azure Application Insights, APM tools)
- Exposure to AI concepts, including:
- Testing AI features or functionalities
- Hands-on testing of AI chatbot solutions (Azure or similar platforms)
Work Setup: Hybrid (1-2x onsite in BGC, Taguig), Shift: Dayshift / Mid Shift / Night Shift (depending on project & preference)
