About Question Beauty
Question Beauty is a fast-growing colour cosmetics brand known for bold, expressive products, including our viral multichrome mascara toppers, pigments, palettes, glosses and setting sprays.
Social media has been a major driver of our growth, with our products reaching millions of people globally and building a highly engaged international beauty community.
As we continue to scale, we are looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to take ownership of our organic social channels, strengthen our content strategy and turn Question Beauty's products, creators and community into consistently high-performing social content.
About the Role
The Social Media Manager will own Question Beauty's day-to-day organic social media presence, including content strategy, planning, publishing, community engagement and performance.
You will work closely with our Senior Brand & Marketing Manager, Influencer Marketing Manager and design team to maintain a strong pipeline of brand, creator and community content across Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
You will be responsible for understanding what our audience wants to watch, identifying trends and opportunities early, and turning performance insights into better content.
This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes social media, understands beauty and internet culture, has excellent creative instincts and is equally comfortable planning ahead and reacting quickly when an opportunity arises.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the Question Beauty organic social media calendar across Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
- Develop our organic social strategy, including content pillars, platform priorities, recurring formats, growth objectives and publishing cadence.
- Translate product launches, campaigns, promotions and key brand moments into engaging social-first content plans.
- Develop content concepts, hooks, captions, scripts, storylines and creative briefs.
- Own day-to-day publishing, including post timing, captions, thumbnails, sounds, hashtags, calls to action and platform optimisation.
- Maintain a strong balance of product education, entertainment, trends, tutorials, community content, launches and conversion-focused content.
- Identify high-performing concepts and turn them into repeatable formats and series.
- Stay closely connected to TikTok, Instagram, beauty trends, creator culture and wider internet culture, identifying relevant opportunities for Question Beauty early.
- Monitor competitors and leading consumer brands to identify emerging formats, creative approaches and platform developments.
- Lead organic social support around product launches, ensuring sufficient content is planned before, during and after launch.
- Monitor comments, tags, mentions and customer content and identify opportunities for proactive community engagement.
- Surface recurring customer questions, feedback and social sentiment to the wider marketing team.
- Identify strong customer and creator content that can be repurposed across Question Beauty channels.
- Track social media performance including reach, views, engagement, shares, saves, follower growth, traffic and content performance.
- Regularly identify what is working, what is not and how these learnings should influence future content.
- Work with the performance marketing team to identify strong organic content and concepts with potential for paid advertising.
What Success Looks Like
- A clear and reliable organic social calendar is maintained several weeks ahead, with space for reactive posts.
- Question Beauty has a consistent and recognisable presence across its key social platforms.
- Social content becomes increasingly distinctive, engaging and native to each platform.
- Strong recurring content formats and series are established rather than constantly starting from scratch.
- Product launches receive strong and consistent organic social support.
- Creator content is being strategically commissioned and repurposed based on actual social needs.
- Designers receive clear briefs, priorities and deadlines rather than reactive requests.
- Organic reach, engagement, shares, saves and community growth improve over time.
- Social performance data is actively used to determine what the brand creates next.
- Trends and relevant cultural opportunities are identified and acted on quickly.
- The wider marketing team has clear visibility over what is being published, what is performing and what content is needed next.
About You
- 3+ years of experience managing social media for a consumer brand, agency or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok and how content behaviour differs between platforms.
- Experience developing social media strategies, content calendars and recurring content formats.
- Excellent creative instincts and strong visual judgement.
- Strong understanding of what makes short-form content engaging, including hooks, pacing, storytelling and retention.
- Able to write engaging captions, scripts, hooks and social copy.
- Comfortable briefing designers, creators and editors and providing clear creative feedback.
- Strong understanding of creator and UGC content and how it can be used effectively across brand channels.
- Comfortable reviewing social performance data and translating results into actionable creative decisions.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple launches, campaigns and content deadlines simultaneously.
- Proactive and able to bring new concepts, trends and opportunities to the team without waiting for direction.
- Comfortable working quickly and adapting priorities in a fast-moving e-commerce environment.
- Strong understanding of beauty, creator and online culture.
Experience in beauty, cosmetics, fashion, lifestyle, international e-commerce or high-growth consumer brands would be highly regarded.
Experience creating or editing short-form content using tools such as CapCut, Canva or native social editing tools would also be beneficial.
