The SSHE Assistant Manager provides leadership, technical expertise, and strategic support to ensure the effective implementation of Security, Safety, Health, Environment (SSHE), and wellbeing programs across the Pasig Site. The role partners closely with the Site SSHE Manager and the Site Leadership Team to drive compliance with legal and corporate standards, reduce operational risks, and enhance the safety culture.
The position is responsible for translating the site's SSHE strategy into actionable programs, strengthening incident prevention and risk management practices, and leading the execution of key initiatives such as HIRAC updates, regulatory reporting, emergency preparedness, environmental management, and occupational health programs. Additionally, the role coaches supervisors and functional leaders to integrate SSHE into all aspects of daily operations.
Ultimately, the Assistant Manager ensures that the site continues to operate safely, sustainably, and responsibly protecting people, assets, the community, and the environment while enabling operational excellence and business continuity.
Main Accountabilities
- Support the SSHE Manager in implementing site SSHE strategies, programs, and action plans.
- Lead assigned SSHE programs and improvement initiatives to drive risk reduction across operations.
- Execute SSHE activities including audits, inspections, trainings, and continuousimprovement projects.
- Ensure effective ontheground implementation of SSHE policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Act as the link between daily operations and broader SSHE strategic goals.
- Recommend improvements and corrective actions based on findings, trends, and incident learnings.
- Exercise decisionmaking authority in daytoday SSHE matters within assigned areas.
- Coach supervisors, operators, and shift leaders on compliance, safe behaviors, and cultural reinforcement.
- Serve as deputy to the SSHE Manager when required, ensuring continuity of SSHE leadership.
- Support regulatory audits, visits, and reporting (e.g., DOLE, DENR, BFP), though not as the primary site representative.
- Manage daily internal SSHE communications and required actions with crossfunctional teams.
- Support occupational health initiatives, including ergonomics, industrial hygiene on work environment, healthrisk assessments, and wellbeing programs.
- Collaborate with HR/People Team on the execution of wellbeing activities and occupational health requirements.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness programs, including drills and firesafety readiness.
- Lead or support incident investigations, HIRAC updates, and the closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist in permit compliance and audit readiness for DENR, DOLE, and BFP and other relevant local government agencies.
- Provide SSHE insights, performance dashboards, and governance reports to site leadership.
Required
Key Skills / Experience / Education
Minimum 57 years experience in Safety, Health, Environment, or SSHE roles in manufacturingFMCG, food, coldchain, or process industries preferred.
510 years of relevant SSHE systems knowledge, including Philippine regulations (DOLE OSH, Fire Code of the Philippines, DENR/LLDA environmental laws).
Demonstrated experience leading safety programs, environmental compliance, and emergency preparedness.
Proven involvement in incident investigations, risk assessments (HIRAC), and CAPA implementation.
Experience handling DOLE inspections, BFP fire safety compliance, DENR permitting, and both internal/external audits.
Experience coaching and influencing supervisors, operators, and crossfunctional teams.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemistry, Food Technology, or other relevant technical fields.
Completed DOLErequired Safety Officer training (SO2 minimum; SO3 preferred).
Must be a duly authorized Safety Officer by DOLE.
Must be a certified Pollution Control Officer (PCO) accredited by DENR/LLDA/DOLE.
Formal training in incident investigation (e.g., SCAT, RCA methodologies).

Experience in ice cream, dairy, beverage, or coldchain manufacturing environments.

Experience supervising or mentoring SSHE specialists/coordinators.
Exposure to crisis management, business continuity, or emergency response teams.
