Site Reliability Engineer

About The Role

A Site Reliability Engineer is a professional who works at the intersection of software development and IT operations. They are responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of software systems and applications. They use their skills in coding, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting to improve the quality and efficiency of the IT infrastructure and services.

How You'll Contribute

• Monitoring the health and performance of the software systems and applications using various tools and metrics.
• Automating the deployment, configuration, testing, and maintenance of the software systems and applications using scripts, tools, and frameworks.
• Troubleshooting and resolving any issues or incidents that affect the software systems and applications or their users.
• Developing and implementing best practices and standards for software reliability engineering, such as service-level objectives, error budgets, incident management, postmortems, etc.
• Collaborating with other software developers and IT operations teams to design, develop, and optimize the software systems and applications.
• Evaluating and adopting new technologies and innovations that can enhance the reliability and performance of the software systems and applications.

What We're Looking For

• Typically, a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in System Administration/IT Operations
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field

Field of Specialization (if applicable): IT Operations, Systems Administration

Knowledge and Skills Requirement

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, Ruby, etc.
• Knowledge of various software development tools and methodologies, such as version control, testing frameworks, agile practices, etc.
• Experience with various cloud computing platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.
• Experience with various IT infrastructure components and technologies, such as servers, storage devices, network devices, operating systems, databases, etc.
• Experience with various automation tools and frameworks, such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.
• Experience with various monitoring tools and systems, such as Datadog, Splunk etc.
