The SHE & Construction Project Engineer has overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health, Environment and Construction activities related to the factory masterplan, to achieve full compliance & excellence from start to finish. He or she works with the site SHE and project teams to develop the strategies and improvements plans to achieve sustainable SHE excellence avoiding & reducing injuries, illnesses, and environmental impact as measured in the core KPIs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Formulate SHE plans and develop lead indicators for safety performance management of masterplan project covers construction and other disciplines of the project mechanical and electrical.
- Support the project manager in monitoring overall project SHE performance in line with the SHE plans and performance indicators, while taking timely and effective corrective actions as needed.
- Lead person for construction of the project. Ownership and delivery of requirements highlighted in the Unilever Construction Safety SHE - 400 series standard (or better).
- Prepare, communicate, implement, and maintain the Project SHE Management Plan throughout the construction process stages - conduct audits and manage compliance.
- Accurate and timely reporting of Site Project SHE data, KPI, and SHE related information
- Manage the quality and timely preparation of all Project SHE deliverables
- Keep track of incidents and facilitate incident investigations
- Develop site project control of work (CoW) systems, conduct site inductions, toolbox meetings, contractor engagements, assessment & verification of competencies for the construction labor force to ensure that work is completed safely, without incident by properly qualified personnel.
- Implement a robust field inspection programme to ensure that the established expectations of the SHE plan are being implemented and adhered to at all operating levels of the project and ensure closure of action as per timelines.
- Assist in the technical evaluation and selection of competent contractors, and subsequent assurance of delivery of the contracted goods and services in line with the agreed conditions
- Manage all environmental aspects of project construction including integration of environmental best practices, waste minimization, compliance with environmental regulations and appropriate waste handling
- Participate in various SHE reviews, PSSR, HAZOPS, construction risk review and supporting the tracking & closure of the Actions.
- Preparation of project emergency response plan and integrate with site emergency response plan.
- Implement & track PTW System for Excavation, Work at Height & Scaffolding, Heavy lifting and general lifting, Hot work, Simultaneous operation, safe work practices, confined space activity and any others.
- Support project manager to develop traffic management plan to ensure traffic safety during project execution at site. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: SKILLS:
- Engineering Fundamentals (civil)

- Decision-Making (under constraints) EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a Civil engineering graduate or any related field, with atleast three (3) years working experience in Construction / FMCG industry.
- Have handled food manufacturing / factory related construction projects is a plus.
- SHE practitioner, atleast S02 certified.
