About the CompanyThe client/company is a fast-growing marketing agency serving land clearing, excavation, demolition, and dirt-world contractors across the U.S. We specialize in Google Business Profile (GBP) ranking dominance, local SEO, and consistent lead generation for service-area businesses.
We are looking for a top-tier SEO Head who understands local intent, proximity factors, and GBP optimization at an expert level while also being strong at on-page and off-page SEO, workflow management, and technical oversight.
About This RoleThis role leads our entire SEO department. You will own strategy, oversee SEO specialists, manage workflows, and ensure long-term ranking performance across 40+ clients (and growing).
The right candidate knows exactly how to move contractors into the Map Pack while also optimizing websites for strong organic visibility.
What You'll Be DoingLocal SEO & Map Pack Strategy (Primary Focus)- Develop and execute local SEO strategies specifically designed to improve GBP and Local 3-Pack rankings
- Audit GBP profiles, categories, services, NAP consistency, photos, posts, attributes, and competitor positioning
- Create citation strategies and oversee citation building, cleanup, and aggregator submissions
- Lead proximity and local authority improvements to influence map rankings
On-Page SEO Leadership- Review technical SEO issues and recommend fixes
- Optimize service pages, location pages, landing pages, internal linking, schemas, and content structure
- Guide keyword research and geo-targeted content strategy
- Ensure all website changes support local ranking goals
Off-Page SEO Strategy- Direct link-building initiatives (local links, press releases, niche edits, partnerships)
- Ensure off-page efforts align with GBP and organic ranking priorities
Management & Team Leadership- Manage and mentor Local SEO Specialists
- Provide SOPs, workflows, and quality-control systems
- Ensure daily/weekly/monthly optimization tasks are executed correctly
- Collaborate with account managers to communicate ranking performance and insights
Reporting & Analytics- Create and maintain reporting dashboards
- Monitor rankings, traffic, conversions, GSC data, GBP insights
- Present insights and recommendations to internal teams
Industry Knowledge & Growth- Stay current on Google algorithm updates
- Drive innovation in local SEO methods and process improvements
