Rethink Therapy is seeking an experienced SEO Manager to own and drive organic search performance across our website and local presence. This is a strategic, hands-on role with a strong emphasis on local SEO, Google ecosystem optimization, and clear, data-driven reporting. You will be responsible for generating qualified traffic, improving visibility in high-intent searches, and translating performance insights into actionable next steps. This role requires accountability, adaptability, and authentic communicationand is not a set it and forget it position. You'll work collaboratively with our team, participate in regular check-ins, and demonstrate measurable results rather than relying on jargon or vanity metrics.

SEO Strategy and Execution

- Own and execute the overall SEO strategy across all web properties

- Conduct keyword research with search intent and conversion goals in mind

- Optimize on-page SEO including site structure, metadata, internal linking, and content improvements

- Identify and address technical SEO issues in partnership with developers

Local SEO and Google Ecosystem Optimization

- Manage and optimize Google Business Profiles, including services, categories, descriptions, posts, photos, and review management

- Develop and execute local SEO strategy including map pack visibility, citations, NAP consistency, and service area optimization

- Improve performance across Google Search and Maps for high-intent local queries

- Monitor performance using Google Search Console, GA4, Tag Manager, and related tools to identify opportunities

SEO Copy and Content Optimization

- Write and optimize SEO-focused website copy, including service and location pages

- Refresh and improve existing content for rankings, clarity, and conversion performance

- Collaborate with leadership and content partners to ensure SEO copy aligns with brand voice

- Provide SEO guidance and briefs for additional content initiatives as needed

Reporting and Website Health Monitoring

- Deliver clear, bi-weekly reports on website and SEO performance metrics

- Monitor website health including traffic trends, rankings, local visibility, and technical risks

- Highlight wins, issues, and priorities for the upcoming two-week cycle

- Translate data into actionable recommendations and next steps rather than reporting metrics alone

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication

- Partner with marketing, operations, and leadership to align SEO initiatives with broader business goals

- Communicate performance results and strategy clearly to non-technical stakeholders

- Stay current on algorithm updates and industry best practices, responding thoughtfully rather than reactively

- Participate in regular check-ins and video calls to maintain alignment and develop work rhythm

Experience and Technical Skills

- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on SEO experience

- Fundamental working knowledge of WordPress, including editing pages, posts, menus, metadata, and basic site settings

- Proven ability to publish, update, and optimize content directly in WordPress without requiring developer support

- Solid understanding of on-page SEO fundamentals including titles, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, and image optimization

- Working knowledge of technical SEO basics such as site speed, indexing, crawlability, and mobile friendliness

- Demonstrated experience managing and optimizing Google Business Profiles and local SEO fundamentals

- Proficiency using Google Search Console, GA4, and at least one major SEO platform (Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar)

- Ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations
