Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior US Accountant with strong expertise in US GAAP and hands-on experience managing end-to-end accounting for US-based clients. This role requires independent ownership of books, month-end close, and client communication, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Close
- Own full-cycle accounting for US clients (GL, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations)
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Maintain accurate balance sheet and P&L accounts
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP
- Support audit and tax engagements by providing schedules and documentation
Revenue & Technical Accounting
- Apply and manage revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Handle lease accounting under ASC 842 (if applicable)
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Perform variance analysis and explain key drivers
Systems & Process
- Work on accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or Sage
- Drive process improvements and automation
- Create and maintain SOPs for accounting workflows
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as primary accounting point of contact for assigned clients
- Communicate financial results and issues clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Partner with internal teams and external auditors/tax advisors
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with direct exposure to US clients
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with at least one major accounting system (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or Sage)
- Proven experience owning month-end close independently
- Excellent written and spoken English communication
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA / CA / ACCA (or pursuing)
- Experience in SaaS, e-commerce, or professional services
- Experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842
- Prior experience in accounting firms or outsourced accounting environments
- Experience working in a remote or offshore model
