About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Test & Systems Development Engineer (Optics) to join our tester development team. This role is critical in the development, validation, and optimization of optical test systems used in manufacturing of cameras, automotive lighting, and other related devices.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Test Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to design and develop custom test systems while ensuring the reliability of its optical components or assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate optical automated test systems according to customer test requirements.
- Drive the tester development projects from conceptualization until qualification & deployment to manufacturing.
- Provides feedback to the customer's technical team on the result of testability assessment of the optical products.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to consider the manufacturability of optical products in test process
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to optical alignment, calibration, and measurement accuracy.
- Develop software tools and scripts for data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
- Generate and maintain documentation for test systems, procedures, and results.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in test processes and system reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of optics, photonics, and optical measurement techniques from 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB.
- Hands-on experience with optical test equipment (e.g., interferometers, spectrometers, power meters).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Experience with optical simulation and design tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V, TracePro, IMATEST, Trioptics) is a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing or product development environment is a plus.
- Experience in using frame grabbers is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated test systems and data acquisition platforms.
- Familiarity with ISO standards for optical testing and calibration.
- Knowledge of machine vision or image processing techniques.
