Senior Technical Writer / Documentation Lead

Work Schedule: 3:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST
We are hiring a Senior Technical Writer / Documentation Lead to lead this effort establishing documentation standards, coordinating a small writing team, and producing clear operational documentation that supports business users before and after the Salesforce migration.
This is a high-visibility project that directly supports revenue operations and go-to-market teams.
Important:
This is not a software API or developer documentation role. The work focuses on business process documentation, CRM workflows, and operational procedures.
What You'll Do
Documentation Leadership
- Define documentation standards, templates, and style guidelines
- Establish version control and review workflows
- Create a documentation roadmap aligned to project and migration timelines
- Lead and review the work of 23 technical writers
Process & Workflow Documentation
- Interview SMEs across Sales Ops, Marketing Ops, BDR, and RevOps
- Document complex operational processes, including:
- Lead lifecycle and scoring
- Lead/account routing and assignment logic
- Campaign workflows
- Opportunity creation and handoffs
- Re-engagement processes
- Data hygiene and merge procedures
- Translate business workflows into clear user guides, SOPs, and process maps
Salesforce Migration Support
- Review new Salesforce layouts, fields, and workflows
- Update documentation to reflect new CRM behavior
- Map current-state vs. future-state processes
- Validate documentation with SMEs and the Salesforce program team
Quality & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate review cycles and approvals
- Manage documentation feedback and version history
- Ensure documentation is ready for publication in internal knowledge portals
- Track progress and escalate risks or blockers
Deliverables
You will produce:
- Documentation standards package (templates, style guide, screenshot policy)
- Content inventory and gap analysis
- Rewritten and standardized documentation across 2530 process areas
- Updated documentation reflecting the new Salesforce environment
- Final SME-approved documentation set ready for publication
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years technical writing or process documentation experience in SaaS or enterprise environments
- Experience leading documentation projects or mentoring writers
- Strong ability to document operational workflows and cross-team processes
- Experience interviewing SMEs and working with limited stakeholder availability
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred)
- Experience documenting processes during system implementations or migrations
- Excellent written English and communication skills
- Ability to work independently across distributed teams
Highly Preferred
- RevOps, Sales Ops, or Marketing Ops documentation experience
- Process mapping (swimlane diagrams, BPMN, Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio)
- Knowledge base or information architecture design
- Experience with change-management or training-ready documentation
